About Pissouri

Pissouri is the third largest village district in the Limassol District of Cyprus, and is located off the A6 motorway midway between Limassol and Paphos (34 kilometers to each) in the Southwest of Cyprus. Pissouri receives about 450mm of rain annually, but has a good supply of groundwater in the valley, with agriculture and tourism as the two main commercial interests. Summer is mainly hot and dry but cooler with rains during the winter. There is snowfall on the highest mountains, mainly Troodos mountain range.
Pissouri Village is located about 4 kilometers from the sea/Bay on the Cape Aspro Ridge, which is approximately 500 feet above sea level (152 meters). The Village is the administrative centre for the Pissouri District, has a village square, petrol stations, police station, post office, supermarkets and mini markets as well as, two banks and two clinics.
The main church is a magnificent Gothic style church and there are also several chapels in the village. The village population majority is that of friendly and welcoming Cypriots and there is also a large ex-patriot population in both the Village and Bay areas.
Pissouri Bay is located some 4 km from the Village at sea level in the Bay to the immediate East of Cape Aspro. The Bay has a large resort and hotel, with many holiday developments and rentals in the Bay and surrounding hillsides to accommodate the tourism industry.
The Bay is a deep water bay, which can provide large ocean fairing motor yachts and sailboats, a beautiful and protected mooring spot. The Bay waters are cool, the beach long with sand and pebbles.
In the Village and Bay areas there are many wonderful tavernas and coffee shops, (soon to be an ice cream parlor). There are first class restaurants offering an array of superb cuisines, including but not limited to Cypriot/Greek, Authentic Indian, European, Italian, Thai and Chinese dishes.
